Upon opening, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the rod. The rod has great action with sturdy metal rod eyes. I also like the twist lock for a secure reel connection. The rod has a strong backbone, but good action on the tip for working lures. It has not felt under-powered while fighting the larger fish. You will forget that this is a telescopic rod and there is nothing flimsy feeling about it. The main things about telescopic rods are of course how easy they are to store and travel with and the convenience of always having them. There is always 2 of them in my truck and 1 in the family vehicle. A great man once told me to never go anywhere without a spoon in case someone offers you a bite. I have changed that to never go anywhere without a fishing rod in case the water calls my name.
