Got to spend about an hour Sunday afternoon at a lake close to the house looking for some fish. Was hoping to see some perch or crappie action, but it still must be to warm for them to be close to the bank. I had a black body, gold blade Roostertail on one rod and a Berkley minnow on a 1/16th ounce jig head on the other rod. This time last year, they were killing the jigs, but I only had one strike on this trip. They wouldn't leave the Roostertail alone though. Caught about a dozen bream and 6-8 small bass. Seemed like the slower the retrieve the better, just enough to keep the blade spinning.
I love these bream!
This was a true monster and almost ripped the rod out of my hands. But seriously, can you catch one much smaller?
